We love the H910 and until the end of the month you can pick it up for only $99 from Eventide. Here it is showcased in a beat made by Headsnack. Thickening up the keyboard adds subtle harmonics and allows it to sit nicely in the mix. We worked with artist, Headsnack, to create a video that showcases how he created his H910 Dual Theme Song video. The song is available for free download on Soundcloud. The Eventide H910 Dual is an iconic plug-in that meshes delay, feedback & pitch-shifting to create some truly unique sounds. Tverb is a unique plug-in in that it's not just a reverb, its a recreation of a famous recording technique invented by Tony Visconti while recording David Bowie's vocals for the track "Heroes". In this demo you can see how as the acoustic guitar is played louder, the 2nd and 3rd microphone open via their gates. All instruments on this track have their own instance of Tverb on them. Music & Performance by Primo Sol. Tverb was developed in collaboration with legendary producer, engineer and musician Tony Visconti. The plugin was inspired by the iconic sound of the title track of David Bowie’s twelfth studio album Heroes. Tverb is a faithful recreation of Visconti's three microphone technique used with Bowie on "Heroes" at Hansa Studios, Berlin. With the Tverb plugin you can run your tracks through this legendary room with one close mic and two movable stereo room mics with control over the response characteristics of the room. Available for purchase or as part of Eventide's Ensemble Subscription, a really cool way to use every Eventide plug-in for a small fee on a recurring basis.
Wanna make beats like the rest of the cool cats? Be sure to check out Catlab, a collaborative site where you can make beats just using one of those rodents you like to catch...a mouse.
Catlab is a feline takover of BandLab, a super cool app for iPhone & Android where musicians from all over the world can collaborate. For example, you record a guitar part in New York and somebody in Singapore can record a bassline. Then somebody in Australia makes a remix of it and another from Utah lays down a vocal. Its a lot of fun and great for building inspiration. Eventide has just announced a killer deal on the secret weapon of reverb, Blackhole. From now through the end of March, 2016, Blackhole can be bought for only $49! Most reverbs are earth-bound and constrained by the physics of the real world. Eventide’s Blackhole reverb breaks the rules by allowing you to create virtual spaces that could never exist in our reality. At large sizes, its soft attack and lingering, harmonic tails allow it to really shine on guitars, strings and pads. At small sizes, those very same qualities can help add an angelic sheen to vocals or turn a simple drum track into an otherworldly rhythm section. Ableton Live version 9.6 includes Link, a technology that keeps devices in time over a wireless network. As long as you're on the same network, you can sync multiple computers with Live as well as Link-compatible iOS devices (the list of these keeps growing). Sounds pretty slick but watch Matt's video to see how fun this could be. Izotope, creators of killer processing effects such as the Ozone mastering suite, are celebrating their 15 year anniversary. As a result they're giving away the first plugin they ever made, for free! Vinyl adds lo-fi crackles, pops, and noise to your recording. This is great for those of you that sample off cds or dare we say it, compressed Mp3s!
Click here to grab it for free! The always entertaining and talented Matt Cellitti shows us how to make the Kylo Ren vocal effect. Kylo sounds pretty menacing behind the mask. Did you know you too can now be your very own conflicted, self-conscious super villian? |
